Is FixMate-SA a government programme?
No. FixMate-SA is an independent South African company. We want to work alongside government programmes, SETAs, colleges and NGOs so that the people they train find paid work.
Do I need a qualification to offer services?
No. Anyone with a skill can offer services once their identity is verified. Qualifications are shown on your profile when you have them, and clients can see them before they book.
How does the payment protection work?
The client pays FixMate before the job starts. We hold the money and release it to the provider when the client confirms the work. If there is a problem, either side can open a dispute and our team looks at the messages, photos and quote to decide.
What if there is no signal where the work is done?
The FixMate phone app keeps working. Before and after photos, "start job" and "job finished" are saved on the phone and sent automatically when there is signal again. The client also gets a 6-digit completion code: when they are happy with the work they read it to the provider, who enters it, even with no network, and is paid once the phone is back in signal. A "Save data" switch makes photos smaller for slow or costly connections.
Where does FixMate work?
Anywhere in South Africa. You can use FixMate in your browser today at app.fixmate.cloud, on any phone or computer. The Android app is coming to Google Play.
How is my personal information protected?
We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Identity documents are never public, and partners only see group results, never personal details without permission. Read our privacy policy.
